The district of Kamina in North Katanga is among the poorest areas in the province and is predominately rural. Most people depend on small-scale farming for a living, yet few understand the need for sustainable farming methods. By empowering and building the capacity of small-scale farmers, The United Methodist Church can strengthen the fight against poverty, malnutrition, and hunger in Kamina. Kamisamba Farm is owned by the North Katanga United Methodist Church and seeks to implement programs aimed at improving yields, sustainability, preservation of environmental ecosystems, and family nutrition. The Farm includes a training center, crop production, animal husbandry, and a guesthouse.
