Crucible Class 15 Event 2: Process Communication
Rev. Adam Barlow-Thompson is the co-founder of The Neighboring Movement, a non-profit that nurtures
authentic, thriving community through the power of neighboring. The Neighboring Movement works in
their founding neighborhood in Wichita, Kansas, across the state of Kansas in learning cohorts, and
in churches around the country through a 9- month training experience. They are practitioners of
Asset Based Community Development and are national connectors for communities of faith using these

Adam also teaches and trains clergy in personality agility, effective communication, and positive
conflict skills. He has been a Crucible leader since 2016 and has shared these tools with hundreds
of pastors across several annual conferences
Adam is married to Rev. Ashley Prescott Barlow-Thompson, a Deacon in the Great Plains Annual
Conference and they have a son Prescott who loves swimming, legos, and reading. He plays banjo in a
folk/bluegrass band and has already heard most banjo jokes.
