As followers of Jesus, we desire to assist those in need. As United Methodists, we also understand that we are part of a connectional church. Local conferences and resources are utilized first in a disaster; here in West Ohio, we wait for an invitation before deploying people or supplies.
Here are some ways to help survivors of Hurricane Helene NOW:
- PRAY – Pray for survivors that have experienced the loss of homes and family members; for early responders in the midst of the devastation; and for assistance to be accessible where it is most needed.
- GIVE – Support UMCOR’s U.S. Disaster Response Fund
- Send a check to West Ohio Conference, 32 Wesley Blvd, Worthington, OH 43085, with “US Disaster Response” in the Memo line.
- GATHER – Relief supplies for Midwest Mission Distribution Center
- Through October 31, we are collecting UMCOR Cleaning, Hygiene, and Menstrual Hygiene kits at 4 sites around the Conference.
