Monfort Heights United Methodist Church, a loving and welcoming community, is seeking an experienced Music Director and Organist. This position part-time (8-10 hours per week) and the annual salary will be based on the candidate’s ability, education, training, and experience, ranging between $16,000-$17,500.

The person chosen for this position will be skilled in accompanying congregational hymn singing, playing sacred music, securing guest musicians for summer music or special services, and selecting music for and directing our Choir. They will be expected to accompany all liturgical services, to lead, recruit, and develop the choir ministry, to accompany soloists and guest musicians (when needed) and play for special services, weddings, funerals, (schedule permitting with honorarium), using their Allen 340x digital pipe organ. They will work with a committee to plan a concert series, where outside musicians and choirs perform.

Membership in the American Guild of Organists (AGO) and/or American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) is encouraged and will be supported.
